Why are health and safety spot checks important?

Under the Health and safety at work act 1974, employers have a duty to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees and others who may be affected by the organisation’s activities. When executing a safety tour, Bravura Inspection help to decipher any issues as well as establishing a realistic means of resolution. This approach means that you can continue to move forward in your health and safety management with professional guidance and support.

Improving health and safety culture in your business is massively important. Bravura aims to take a positive but scrupulous approach to improving health and safety awareness and implementation through our spot checks.

Walk around inspections can help to identify good and bad practice within the workplace which will be followed up by a report. The company of management and directors on our inspections shows a commitment to the workforce and to improvement within the business.

How often?

Inspection frequency will depend on your requirements as well as the level of risk in the workplace and the type of work carried out. Low risk workplaces like offices and retail stores may not need frequent visits, however a higher risk workplace such as a construction site or chemical plant may require more frequent visits due to higher hazard levels.

Bravura can assist you in creating an inspection plan, whether it is a single visit following a poor audit, monthly checks or inspections during shutdowns.
